The PGL Tavern Tales are returning to Bucharest

The PGL Tavern Tales competition for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is coming back to Bucharest. The tournament will make its Spring 2016 debut in the new PGL studios from February 26-28.

The PGL Spring Tavern Tales 2016 follows in the footsteps of the 2015 Winter edition, and will be open to both amateur and professional players alike. They’ll be able to compete for cash prizes, glory and some much coveted Hearthstone Championship Tour points.

Over 128 slots will be available for the open online qualifiers to determine who will claim one of the 32 playoff spots available at the live tournament. Gamers who qualify to play at the event will then have a chance to compete for a share of a $25,000 prize pool, as well as 43 HCT points.

Prize pool breakdown
1st place » $8,000 + 15 HCT points
2nd place » $4,000 + 10 HCT points
3rd-4th place » $2,500 + 5 HCT points each
5th – 8th place » $1,000 + 1 HCT point each
9th – 16th place » $500 each

The PGL Spring Tavern Tales 2016 playoff will feature a Swiss group stage, with the top 16 players moving into a single-elimination bracket. All matches will be played in a Best of 5, Last Hero Standing format.
