KICK9 SELECTS MOBILE E-SPORTS TEAM FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Mobile game publisher KICK9 Inc., today announced that MOBA Legends’ team GodComplex was selected, based on the tournaments criteria, to compete in China for $30,000 worth of prizes. Weekly tournaments are continuing for the 2016 season with weekly cash rewards to the victors, with spectators being able to view and comment on the match live on Twitch.

Team complex consists of the following team members: Netzzie, Vaor and Sw1tchTV

“All of us in team GodComplex are super excited to be competing in the world championship,” said Netzzie, GodComplex. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete against the best MOBA players in the world and represent MOBA Legends at the championship.”

MOBA Legends generated over 600,000 downloads across mobile and tablet devices in the first two months of launch. The title is free-to-play with fast-paced arena combat game that puts player into fierce and fast-paced 10-minute competitive battles against other players on iOS and Android devices. Its launch capturing the attention of the App Store with a feature for “New Games We Love,” Google Play Store “New + Updated Games,” and Galaxy Apps’ “Staff Picks.”  

Milestones achieved include a peak DAU of 45,000 with an average daily online time of 58 minutes per user. The title has also proven to be rather sticky with a RR1 45%, RR3 25%, and RR7 18% respectively. MOBA Legend’s design methodology is to attract leisure based gameplay when compared with the traditional PC based MOBAs. Victory conditions are based the first team to obtain 20 kills or destroy the enemy’s ultimate defensive towers.

During the Halloween season, themed Legends and maps could be found including: Vampire Warrior, Zombie Brute, and a reskinned Halloween map incorporating a pumpkin design. Spearheading the initiative and available for a limited time was movie horror icon Chucky, as a playable Legend, and a soon to be released skin as Tiffany (licensed from the film “Bride of Chucky”).    

Kick9 partnered with Electric Soul to launch their mobile version of the game to North American and European markets. Electric Soul’s PC based counterpart in China had over 100 million registered players at the end of 2015, and at its peak 540,000 players were recorded to be playing online. The title was also previously named “New Prominent Top Ten Online Games” and “Top Ten Most Popular Games” by local publications.
