Collegiate StarLeague Working with EA SPORTS to Host Madden NFL 17 Championship Series Events

The Collegiate StarLeague (CSL) has announced that it is working with Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) to host and facilitate Challenger Events within the Madden Championship Series.  As part of the competition, student gamers from across North America will have the opportunity to represent their school and compete for $10,000 in scholarships.  The event will be hosted on CStarleague.com and the winners will advance to the inaugural Midwest Campus Clash at Columbia College in Missouri on April 8, 2017.

“We’re so excited to be adding EA SPORTS Madden NFL 17 to CSL’s offering of competitive leagues and tournaments.  It’s one of the most popular titles not only on campus, but around the world and we listened to the community to add it as our first console game,” says Duran Parsi, CEO of the Collegiate StarLeague.

Registration is already open and league play will begin February 11, 2017.  Madden NFL 17 is CSL’s first foray into offering gamers the opportunity to play console games, and the series is being hosted on both PS4 and Xbox One.  The game will be played on Draft Champions mode with the top four competitors per console will be flown out to the finals to compete live to crown a collegiate champion.

“Collegiate tournaments have been at the heart of the competitive Madden NFL scene for over a decade,” said Matt Marcou, Madden NFL Competitive Gaming Commissioner. “We’re proud to work with the Collegiate StarLeague in our ongoing effort to make stars of all of our players.”

The Madden NFL 17 event continues a busy year for CSL, who have previously signed a deal with Riot Games to host the uLOL Campus Series, a content creation and distribution partnership with Campus Insiders and a streaming partnership with Twitch.  Further details including rules and regulations can be found on CStarleague.com/Madden.
