Elite Series Need To Know: Week 4

GFINITY

Week 4, you know the score. Don’t be a bore, find out all about this weekend by reading more! Sorry, we’ll stop. Read on for all the info you need to know going into week 4!

STREET FIGHTER V

Kicking off an epic Week 4 weekend is Prophecy versus Endpoint, a crucial game for both teams. Prophecy sit just below the top spot, with only game difference keeping them behind Infused. A strong win here could move them top of the table. Meanwhile, Endpoint have suffered a couple of close losses, and really need another win on the board to give themselves a fighting chance for the playoffs.

Reason, fresh off an incredible win over Season 1 winners exceL, face a Method side that have to be disappointed with their performance so far. With both teams sitting on a meagre 3 points, Reason will be hoping that their chosen one SaltyKid continues his run of amazing performances. Method really need to start performing to their full potential, or they risk getting left behind in the competition.

Infused vs Team Envy will be a battle of the pop-offs, but also an exciting display of Street Fighter between two great teams. Infused are top of the league at the moment and remain undefeated, but the French boys in blue have been performing well after a shaky week 1. One thing is certain: whoever wins, we’ll all know about it.

Finally, Season 1 winners exceL take on this season’s whipping boys Epsilon, the only team yet to earn a single point. exceL have had a disappointing start to season 2, but none have been more disappointing than Epsilon. A win this week is crucial for them to remain in contention. Brothers Takamura and Keftaroz need to pull together and pull out all the stops to grab those 3 points.

ROCKET LEAGUE

Doomsee looks to end his woes as Infused, still on zero points, take on Endpoint in our first game. If they don’t earn at least a point here, Infused are essentially out of the running for the season. Endpoint are sitting at fifth with only 3 points, so this might be Infused’s best chance yet to turn things around.

Method vs Epsilon should favour the former, sitting on a comfortable 6 points while Epsilon still have none. It’s the same story for them as it was with Infused: if they don’t get something here, they’re done. Next, third-place exceL take on first-place Prophecy in a match that will have big implications on the top of the league.

Finally, Reason face Envy. Reason have been on a hot streak so far and remain undefeated, only goal difference keeping them from the top spot. A strong win here could see them rocket into first place, almost unthinkable after their dismal performance last season. Can the miracles keep coming for Reason?

CS:GO

Method vs Infused starts us off with a match that should be close; despite their positions at opposite ends of the league table, both teams have had strong performances this season. However, Infused seemed to fall apart last week against a renewed exceL, so they’ll need to refocus and regroup to be in with a chance.

Epsilon remain the only undefeated side in the season, and will be looking to make it four in a row against Reason. However, sitting in third place with a respectable 7 points, Reason have been performing far beyond people’s expectations thus far, and defeating the current leaders would be a huge statement.

Prophecy, still to earn even a single point, take on an exceL side that seemed rejuvenated last week. After two weeks of disappointment, exceL were a force of nature in Week 3, storming over Infused with a victory that looked easy at times. This is going to be a very steep hill for Prophecy to climb.

Finally, Envy and Endpoint face off in a match that could go either way. The Envy Academy team have had a disappointing run so far, not performing to the level that many expected. With Endpoint looking strong, this week is important for them to silence the naysayers.
