FNATIC announces Fortnite team tryouts

FNATIC, one of the world’s leading global esports brands, revealed that attendees at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles (June 12-14) will have the opportunity to catch the eye of scouts recruiting for FNATIC’s Fortnite team. The team will be hosting tryouts for the team under the watchful eye of Ettnix, FNATIC’s Fortnite captain and currently ranked top five in the world.

The move from FNATIC comes as Epic Games recently announced plans to offer a prize pot of $100m (£74m) for Fortnite competitions. The prize fund has been set aside for the first year of competitive play of the popular game, due to start later this year.

The tryouts will be located within DXRacer’s booth [Booth #2513] at the main E3 show, the company behind the world’s best gaming chairs and an official partner of FNATIC. It’s a first come, first served event where players will have one life in a solo game in a bid to win prizes from FNATIC’s brand new range of Gear products that launched just weeks ago. Kills will be rewarded more than match wins: 5 kills earns players a mousepad and 10 kills earns players a FNATIC Gear Clutch 2 mouse. Players that deliver the best performance of the day will also be rewarded with a FNATIC Gear Streak Keyboard.

The schedule for the tryouts is as follows:

  • Tuesday 12th June: 5PM -7PM
  • Wednesday 13th June: 12AM-2PM
  • Thursday 14th June: 3PM-5PM

Patrik “cArn” Sättermon, Chief Gaming Officer and Co-Owner of FNATIC, said: “Epic’s recent announcement regarding the competitive side of Fortnite is something we as a team are incredibly excited about. As always with FNATIC, we’re looking to recruit the world’s best. By running this experiment at E3, which is the first time we’ve ever done anything like this as an organisation, we are providing fans with the opportunity to showcase their ability on Fortnite and have some fun. You never know, we may even unearth some hidden talent that could one day compete for FNATIC.”

“For players that live and breathe esports, an opportunity like this is one in a million,” added Ettnix, captain of FNATIC Fortnite. “This is their chance to show up and impress when the pressure is on. I might even give a few the chance to play against me!.”
