Who Qualified For the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs in Manchester

FIFA 18 Global Series

The FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs roster is starting to take shape! After the FUT Champions Cup Manchester concluded, 16 more players officially qualified for the Playoffs to be played in Amsterdam. They join those who previously qualified in Barcelona and other official qualifying tournaments. Once the list is finalized, the Playoffs will determine the 32 competitors who will secure their qualification for the 2018 FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final.

Some players had harder paths to the top than others, and the list of qualified players is fairly diverse. Fan favorites like Hashtag Harry met expectations and made it to the next level of this year’s competition, as did Kurt0411, who earned himself a chance to finally prove that he’s the best in the world. Others seemingly came from nowhere, like American RemiMartinn and Canadian phenomenon GoalMachine, who nearly went the distance in his first major event.

In addition to the Manchester finalists, Falcon MSDossary (champion) and Eisvogel (runner-up, though he already qualified via the ESL Germany event), the following players qualified at the event by placing in the top eight of their respective consoles (these players were not already qualified):

PlayStation 4

  • Damian “Damie” Augustyniak
  • Muhammed “FIFAustun” Üstün
  • Yannick “Gotzery” De Groot
  • Corentin “Maestro” Thuillier
  • Henrique “Zezinho23” Silva

Xbox One

  • Nawid “GoalMachine” Noorzai
  • Martin “RemiMartinn” Oregel
  • Nathan “M Herozia” Gil
  • Harry “Hashtag Harry” Hesketh
  • Lucas “PSG Daxee” Cuillerier

There were some open spots after the top eight had been decided in Manchester because a handful of those competitors had already qualified. To determine who would take those qualifying spots for the Playoffs from Manchester, players who ranked 9-16 on each platform in the tournament and had not previously qualified participated in a series of round robin placement games to determine the final spots, two for Xbox One and three for PlayStation 4. The winners of that series were:

PlayStation 4

  • Lev “Ajax Lev” Vinken
  • Andoni “Andonii” Payo Martin
  • Ettore “Abrucio” Abrucio

Xbox One

  • Kurt “Kurt0411” Fenech
  • Tim “S04 Tim Latka” Schwartmann

They will join the 16 players who already qualified by finishing in the top eight of their console at FUT Champions Cup Barcelona.

  • Kai “Deto” Wollin
  • Mohammed “MoAubameyang” Harkous
  • Nicolas “Nicolas99fc” Villalba
  • Chris “NYC_Chris” Holly
  • Stefano “StefanoPinna” Pinna
  • Jannik “Testotier” Berg
  • Tim “TheStrxnger” Katnawatos
  • Jimmy “YimmieHD” Donkers

  • Lukas “Sakul” Vonderheide
  • Michael “Megabit” Bittner
  • Ryan “Hashtag Ryan” Pessoa
  • Donovan “F2Tekkz” Hunt
  • Niklas “NRaseck” Raseck
  • Javier “Janoz” Muñoz
