some of the greatest Madden NFL players in the world will go head-to-head for their shot to advance to the next round in the EA SPORTS Madden NFL Live Challenge*. Fans can tune in to twitch.tv/easports at 1:00pm ET/10:00am PT on Fri, December 18 to see eight of the all-time greats, including Eric “Problem” Wright, widely considered to be the globe’s top Madden NFL player, lay it all on the line for their shot at the finals.
The players will participate in a round-robin tournament, with the top four advancing. The competitors will be playing the new Draft Champions Ranked** mode in Madden NFL 16, which delivers the excitement of a fantasy draft by allowing players to assemble a team of current NFL players and all-time legends over a series of quick rounds, then take their squad on the field against other drafted teams.
These expert players will make up half of the final bracket for the Madden NFL Live Challenge, and the other half will be filled by the top players from the Madden NFL community. Fans can keep up with the latest standings at the Madden NFL Live Challenge Leaderboards. There’s still time for players on both Xbox One and PS4 to play games, climb the ranks, and punch their ticket to Madden Bowl XXII in San Francisco Super Bowl Week.
Those who can’t get enough of the Madden NFL Live Challenge can check out games being played every day by the EA SPORTS Stream Team on the EA SPORTS Twitch channel. Fans can also get the latest news and updates on the tournament on the MUT Cast, streaming weekly every Tuesday at 11:00am ET on Twitch.
Through the rest of the month players are encouraged to climb the Draft Champions Ranked leaderboards, and the top 64 players on Xbox One and the top 64 on PS4 will be invited to compete in the next round. These competitors will continue to battle in January, culminating in the top four heading to San Francisco Super Bowl week for the finals, with the championship game taking place at the Madden Bowl venue immediately before the NFL players’ tournament. The tourney winner will take home $20,000, and the remaining prize money will be split among the other finalists.
