Dota 2 is the first game announced for the competition, which finals will be in September, at Brasil Game Show (BGS)
Brasil Game Cup, the eSports tournament held at Brasil Game Show (BGS), the largest game show of Latin America, this year will feature many novelties. In addition to a Dota 2 tournament, game featured in previous editions and already confirmed to 2016, the competition will feature other games, which will be announced in the upcoming months.
Throughout the year there will be qualifiers, which in addition to cash prizes will provide the best teams the chance to compete face-to-face at the competition grand finals, to be held on the stage of BGC at BGS. The stage will have a superstructure with big high definition screens, great audience area and professional broadcasting team in the largest and most modern exhibition center in the country. In addition, all final matches will be broadcasted via streaming.
The prizes for the first tournament already confirmed to Brasil Game Cup this year, with the game Dota 2, will be BRL 60 thousand. Winning teams in each competition will have its name engraved on the Ralph Baer Trophy – a tribute to the creator of the first videogame in history.
BGC – Dota 2
Dota 2 tournament of BGC will have two online qualifiers, which will define the two teams that will compete for the grand final on September 5, during the BGS. Each qualifier will have 128 places for Brazilian teams, an award of BRL 5 thousand and one place in the grand final for the winning team. The second place of each round will take the prize of BRL 3 thousand and the third BRL 2 thousand.
The first online qualifier will occur from April 2 to May 21, and all matches will be on Saturdays, from 1:30 pm.
The winning team in the grand final, on September 5, will take the prize of BRL 30 thousand and will have its name engraved on the Ralph Baer Trophy. The second place will receive BRL 10 thousand.
To participate in the Dota 2 tournament, interested teams must register directly on the competition official website on www.brasilgamecup.com.br from March 7 to 25, or until it reaches the participants limit number.
In 2015, the following teams participated of the competition: paiN Gaming, T-Show, Keyd Stars, Not Today, Isurus Gaming, Artyk Gaming, INTZ and Santos Dexterity. For the second consecutive time, the paiN Gaming took the title and recorded, once again, its name on the Ralph Baer Trophy .
