Call of Duty® World League Presented by PlayStation®4 Pro Division Stage 1 Finals Taking Place Easter Weekend

The Call of Duty® World League, Presented by PlayStation®4, Pro Division Stage 1 Finals are taking place this weekend at Cologne’s ESL Studios, where the best teams from the CWL Pro Division will face off against each other and compete for $200,000 in prize money. Those who perform best will also find themselves one step closer to qualifying for the Call of Duty Championship this autumn, where they’ll have the chance to earn a stake of the $1.6 million prize. This weekend will also see the most successful up-and-coming eSports players from the CWL Challenge Division compete for future placement in Stage 2 of the Pro Division.

In total, 14 teams from all over Europe will compete in thrilling 4-on-4 action on the home of Call of Duty eSports, PlayStation 4, either proving their skills in Friday’s relegation matches or moving straight to the Pro Division play-offs on Saturday and Sunday. Spectators can either cheer on their idols on-site at the iconic ESL Studios, or follow the online stream along with a hundred thousand other fans.

The Call of Duty Twitch channel and Call of Duty website will enable anyone to follow the gripping duels starting Friday from 10am GMT, Saturday from 4pm GMT and Sunday from 1pm GMT. Viewers can also watch the stream on the ESL Twitch channel, while PlayStation 4 users can also tune into the action directly from Call of Duty®: Black Ops III thanks to the Live Event Viewer. Once fans are in game, it only takes one button press to take them right into the broadcast.

Hosted by Activision and the ESL, the event in Cologne is the second of three Stage 1 finals worldwide where the best players can earn their share of $600,000 as part of the Stage 1 prize pool. Throughout the year, the CWL will award over $3 million to its participants, thus achieving a prestigious position in the league of highest possible winnings in console eSports.
