The ESL One Dota 2 train has no brakes! ESL One Manila may have only just concluded but ESL One Frankfurt 2016 is already looming on the horizon, ready to deliver the next chapter of amazing tournaments, great teams and roaring fans in the stadiums around the world. And while Frankfurt is half a world away from the Philippines, we can already look forward to familiar sights and sounds.
Three of the teams that went to Manila are ready to pounce on the next chance to take home some silverware and etch themselves into ESL One history. Fnatic, compLexity and Team Liquid are the returning teams that will take the stage in the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt. And this time around, all three of them will most likely breathe a sigh of relief at the fact that Wings Gaming is not (yet) confirmed for ESL One Frankfurt. The Chinese qualifiers have yet to be played out, so anything is possible, but Wings Gaming were the ones to knock the trio out in Manila. So get ready to see the teams that are more than hungry to prove themselves.
On the topic of proving themselves, we are dragging TobiWan and Maelk back on the main stage in Frankfurt. The two of them have some unfinished business to take of after the conclusion of the Macho Man contest in Manila. While Tobi was crowned as the eventual winner, we had to take a closer look at the rulebook afterwards, only to realize that his unprecedented, never before seen hug of the century did not start off with at least 5 seconds of heart-stopping posing. This will give Maelk aka. Milk aka. Blue Steel a second chance to secure himself a victory. But will he be able to top his spine-tingling, breathtaking duckface?
All in all we a looking forward to a thrilling event full of festival atmosphere, crazy games (Techies 2015 – never forget) and one of the most passionate crowds in esports. You can already look forward to another magnificent cosplay contest between the games, the return of our beloved balloon artist Daniel “FuDD” Ravia, our first iteration of the Artist’s Alley, the impossible truck espace to get out the MMR trench and many more side activities that have yet to be announced.
It’s not too late for you to secure yourself a ticket to Dota 2 festival that is ESL One Frankfurt 2016.
