Turner Studios in Atlanta has unveiled a state-of-the-art facility to be used exclusively for ELEAGUE when the new professional eSports league launches tomorrow, Tuesday, May 24, at 12 p.m. ET via Twitch. ELEAGUE, a partnership between Turner and WME | IMG, will debut from a 10,000 square foot arena specifically built for eSports to best capture all of the action and excitement surrounding the live event experience.
The new ELEAGUE arena – hosting a live studio audience – will be fitted with 26 cameras including 12 devoted to capturing point of view perspective for each player and one focused on the collective team throughout the competition. The studio will also leverage a JitaCam, a camera suspended from the ceiling that is capable of capturing 360-degree angles of the entire event floor. Overall, the studio will have 25,000 square feet of LED lighting.
In addition to the new ELEAGUE arena, Turner Studios has built a custom eSports office space and training facilities for the competing teams. A full-service creative production organization – with six studios and more than 75 post-production rooms – Turner Studios is lending all of its next generation content creation and technological capabilities to ELEAGUE.
“We are all incredibly excited for the launch of ELEAGUE and the opportunity to showcase this live event experience from our new state-of-the-art facility,” said Lenny Daniels, President of Turner Sports. “We’re fully committed to providing a best-in-class production experience that will extend across all platforms and we will continue to serve the passionate eSports community with high quality, engaging content that always has the live gaming competition at its core.”
ELEAGUE coverage will premiere tomorrow, May 24, at 12 p.m. ET on Twitch, with week-long live event action continuing Wednesday, May 25, at 12 p.m. and Thursday, May 26, at 2 p.m. across the popular digital platform. Friday, May 27, will mark the debut of ELEAGUE on TBS with a special showcase beginning at 10 p.m., with simultaneous coverage available via Twitch.
The first season of ELEAGUE will feature 24 of the world’s most elite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams facing off in a competition that will culminate with a Global Championship held Saturday, July 30, and an overall purse of $1.4 million on the line.
