Road to COD Champs 2016

The Call of Duty® World League Championship, Presented by PlayStation® 4, taking place at the highly-anticipated Call of Duty® XP 2016, will be the largest competitive Call of Duty® event to date with more than $2 million in prizing on the line and all players have a chance to qualify. As a central part of the fan celebration of Call of Duty XP, the Call of Duty World League Championship will feature 32 of the top teams from around the world. Many will have competed in the Call of Duty World League, Presented by PlayStation®4 Pro Division, but others will be amateurs who qualified via tournaments hosted online or through special live events. The action of the Call of Duty World League Championship begins on September 1st. All of the matches will be broadcast live throughout the weekend so fans can tune in to find out who will take home the largest cash prize in Call of Duty competitive history, wrapping up a CWL inaugural year with more than $3.5 million dollars in prizing.

For Pro Division teams, the CWL Stage 2 finals will be a worldwide celebration held in Burbank on July 14th- 17th. Top CWL Pro Division teams from all three regions (North America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand) will meet and face off in a single location to find out who takes home the top prize per region and potentially qualify for the Call of Duty World League Championship. Eight teams for North America, six teams for Europe, and four teams for ANZ will battle in region-locked playoffs for a weekend event that is part of the CWL’s overall prize purse in 2016, at more than $3.5 million. CWL Pro Division teams will qualify for the Call of Duty World League Championship based on their performances in Stage 1 and Stage 2 combined. 6 teams from North America, 4 from Europe, and 2 Australian/New Zealand teams will all qualify from the CWL Pro Division for the Call of Duty World League Championship.

In the lead-up to the Call of Duty World League Championship, amateur and pro teams that don’t qualify via the CWL Pro Division will have opportunities to earn CWL Pro Points and prize money through online and live tournaments. All the online and live tournaments lead up to the CWL Championship qualifier and a chance to take on the world’s best in Los Angeles.

Australia/New Zealand CWL Championship Qualifier

· 16 teams will compete for 2 spots at CWL Championship

· Online qualifiers will take place July 22 – 24

Europe CWL Championship Qualifier

· 24 teams will compete for 8 spots

· Online qualifiers will take place July 22 – 24

North America CWL Championship Qualifier

· 32 teams will compete for 10 spots

· Online qualifiers will take place August 12 – 14

Teams will be invited based on the amount of CWL Pro Points by adding each players CWL Pro Points to get the total. For teams that are looking to compete on the world’s biggest stage, we have multiple opportunities to garner as many CWL Pro Points as possible with both online and live tournaments.

MLG Weekly 500 Series online tournaments begin across all three regions on Sunday, June 19.

· North America at 11am PDT/2pm EDT

· Europe at 10am PDT/1pm EDT

· Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) at 7pm PDT/10pm EDT (June 18)

MLG Daily 50 Series online tournaments run Monday through Saturday and will begin in North America and Europe the day after Weeklies start, on Monday, June 20.

· Europe at 11am PDT/2pm EDT

· 10 European CWL Pro Division team and 6 teams determined through online qualifier will battle for a $20,000 prize pool with first place receiving XX CWL Pro Points

· Taking place in at the Gfinity Arena in Fulham, London

Call of Duty® MLG Orlando Open: August 5-7

· Last chance to earn CWL Pro Points

· 12 North American CWL Pro Division teams and 96 amateur teams will have $100,000 on the line in addition to 2,500 CWL Pro Points for first place

· Taking place at Loews Royal Pacific at Universal Studios Orlando, Florida
