Dota 2 International 2016 Invites Revealed

The six teams receiving an invite to 2016’s Dota 2 International have been revealed, and if you’ve been following this year’s Majors then there’s likely very little here to surprise anyone.

The six teams set to be coming to Dota 2’s International in August this year will be: OG, Team Liquid, Newbee, LGD Gaming, MVP Phoenix and Natus Vincere – or NaVi to you and I.

Each of these teams have had consistent performances at various competitions throughout the year, with the recent Dota 2 Manila Major proving that these teams are easily the best Dota 2 teams right now.

It was OG who took the grand finals at the Manila Major, dominating the tournament which each series and even managing to win 2-0 against MVP Phoenix in a series that was too close – on paper – to easily predict who would end up the victor.

Alongside the six invited teams, Dota 2’s 2016 International will also include two teams (winner and runner-up) from each region during a qualifying round, as well as two wild card teams too.

Alongside two teams from an open qualifying round, six teams from the Americas and eight teams each from Europe, China and Southeast Asia will compete in a regional qualifying round to determine who will make it to the International proper. These are:
