Fnatic head coach Nico “NicoThePico” Korsgaard has left the organization.
The team has been struggling to keep up with the top teams in the European League of Legends Championship Series, and currently they find themselves hovering just inside the playoff spots in the league, with four wins and six defeats.
Team manager Finlay “Quaye” Stewart will be stepping in as the interim head coach while the team searches for a replacement.
“As I have been unable to provide the needed remedy, I feel that someone else with an outside perspective on the team and its issues, in both draft and gameplay, might be a better solution than what I was able to provide” Nico said, ” It saddens me to end the journey here, even if it was a rough one, I loved every minute of every day.”
Quaye added “I am of the belief that we have a truly talented group of players capable of far more than where we currently sit in the standing”
With only three matches left of the regular season, and Roccat clipping at their heels for the final playoff spot in group A, Fnatic will have to hope that the loss of their head coach doesn’t cause a collapse in the team. Fnatic face off against Giants next week, before meeting the top two of the group, G2 Esports and Misfits.
