Team Dignitas announced their new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster last night, and it includes a few familiar faces.
The new lineup includes a return to Team Dignitas for former player Ruben “Rubino” Villarroel, who left the organization in January this year, when he and fellow teammates signed for North, the esports team backed by FC Copenhagen.
Former FaZe members Mikael “Maikelele” Bill, Ricardo “Fox” Pacheco, and Joakim “Jkaem” Myrbostad also feature in the newly formed squad. Maikelele will be the one taking up the main AWP role, while Fox, who most recently turned out for SK Gaming as a temporary substitute will be the hybrid AWP/rifle player for the team.
Perhaps the most surprising inclusion is former Fnatic and player and Ninjas in Pyjamas and Counter Logic Gaming coach Faruk “Pita” Pita. The player has had some trouble finding solid form upon his return to playing, though the team is confident his in-game leading abilities are key for them to find success.
Despite the organization’s past claims that their new lineup would be based in North America, after the Philadelphia 76ers acquired the organization, this new lineup will continue to compete in Europe. Team Dignitas lost their ESL Pro League spot when their former lineup transferred to North, however this new team will debut in the Faceit European Championship Series, starting next week.
