The League of Legends Intel Extreme Masters World Championship set to take place in Katowice, Poland, will feature eight great teams from around the world battling it out for a minimum of US$100,000. Last year, we saw teams like Cloud9, GE Tigers and Team SoloMid fighting in style for the coveted World Championship trophy. It is time to see this year’s event participants and the tournament format. <\/p>\n

The following four teams qualified for the Intel Extreme Masters League of Legends World Championship during Season 10:
\n\u2022Origen (Intel Extreme Masters San Jose)
\n\u2022Counter Logic Gaming (Intel Extreme Masters San Jose)
\n\u2022ESC Ever (Intel Extreme Masters Cologne)
\n\u2022Qiao Gu Reapers (Intel Extreme Masters Cologne)<\/p>\n
A further four teams from the following regions will also be invited to compete in the World Championship:

\n\u2022One North American invitee
\n\u2022One Chinese invitee
\n\u2022One Korean invitee<\/p>\n

Format<\/p>\n
The Intel Extreme Masters League of Legends World Championship will begin with a group stage consisting of two groups of four teams and double elimination best of one matchups. The four best teams from the group stage will move on to the playoffs which will consist of best-of-three semifinals and a best-of-five grand final. <\/p>\n
