Danish Counter-Strike player Jacob \u201cPimp\u201d Winneche has handed in a transfer request to North American side Team Liquid, the organization announced last night.<\/p>\n
Pimp will be active with the roster until he has found a new home and Team Liquid have found a suitable replacement. The move comes just a month after the side seemingly strengthened with the signing of former Optic player Peter \u201cStanislaw\u201d Jarguz, who is considered one of the best in-game leaders in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring his time with us, Pimp played admirably and was a valuable teammate.\u201d said Team Liquid founder and Co-CEO Victor \u201cNazgul\u201d Goossens, \u201cESL One: New York will stand as the highlight of our time together as we barged out of the groups by defeating Fnatic twice ultimately reaching the semi-finals. Pimp was integral to that success, and we will always remember his clutch to earn us match point on Dust II.\u201d<\/p>\n
ESL One New York was the best placement Pimp achieved with Team Liquid, and the team hasn\u2019t managed to match the success they had with the man Pimp replaced, Oleksandr \u201cS1mple\u201d Kostyliev.<\/p>\n
Pimp gave the following statement regarding his impending departure from the lineup.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s with mixed feeling of sadness and excitement that I will no longer be a part of the Team Liquid starting roster. I no longer feel that playing for Liquid fulfills my personal expectations & goals, nor do I feel I can provide the commitment necessary to continue with the team on a long term basis.<\/p>\n
It has been a great ride and an experience I would not trade for anything in the world. I am not done as a player by any means, and I am actively looking for another team with a vision similar to mine. I want to take this time to thank Liquid for everything they\u2019ve done and provided for me, a life experience I wouldn\u2019t be without!\u201d<\/p>\n
