The Season 2 finals of the ESL ESEA Pro League have come to an end. We had four days filled with world-class CS:GO action and saw multiple great plays. The battle for the championship began with eight teams from Europe and North America – but only one could take home the trophy. In the end, it was Fnatic who claimed the title for a second time in a row, defeating Natus Vincere in the grand final.<\/p>\n
Fnatic\u2019s and Na\u2019Vi\u2019s roads to the final was mirrored. They won their first group match but lost the winner\u2019s match and had to fight for a semifinal slot in the decider match. In the semifinals, they faced other two top European teams: ? (formerly TSM) and Team EnVyUs, both of whom were defeated 2-0.<\/p>\n
The grand final was shaping up to be a thrilling one, and it delivered in every way. We saw all five maps having to be played out, all of them proving that both Fnatic and Natus Vincere deserve a spot in the final. The first two maps, Inferno and Dust 2, went in favor of Fnatic, although it was not an easy task. The Swedes were losing 3-12 but managed to turn the game around completely and go 16-14 on Inferno. Things were looking good for Fnatic but Natus Vincere were not done yet as they took the next two maps Mirage and Train, the former with a very convincing lead. In the end, everything came down to Cobblestone, where Fnatic sealed the deal with a decisive score of 16-6 and claimed their second ESL ESEA Pro League championship.<\/p>\n
