This two day celebration of all things Inkopolis will include a special appearance by Splatoon 2 Producer Hisashi Nogami, Splatoon Cosplay & Fan-Art competitions and, of course, the Grand Final of the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 where, after months of fierce competition, our winning team will be crowned as the Splatoon 2 UK Champions! The search for the UK’s best Splatoon 2 team is set to be a Splatoon festival of fun that you just won’t want to miss. The Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Grand Final
After months of fierce competition, both the Inkling League and Octo League will conclude at the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Grand Final! The first thing for people to watch will be the Inkling League Top 4, which will take place from 10am on Saturday 24th November. This league focuses on teams of players aged 13 and under, and will offer a splat-tacular display of up-and-coming turf-taking talent.
The Octo League Top 8, beginning shortly after, will be a more intense undertaking. Beginning at 14:00 on Saturday 24th November, this intense double elimination bracket will last for two days, truly putting the best Splatoon 2 players in the UK through their paces and ensuring that the best team will take the trophy and go on to represent the UK in the Splatoon 2 European Championship 2018 – 2019 season final.
From returning favorites such as Team 4D and Team Mako, to powerful new squads including Inkxiety Sirens and Inklings Anonymous, the clash for the trophy will be messy and hard-fought, and you’ll be able to watch every match alongside fellow Splatoon 2 fanatics live at the event. What’s more, spectators at the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Grand Final will receive exclusive goodies, and there will be plenty of chances to win lots more prizes!
Every match of the Inkling League and Octo League finals, as well as other activities taking place on the Nintendo Stage throughout the 2 days, will also be broadcast live at Twitch.tv/NintendoUK and YouTube.com/NintendoUK. Special Appearance by Splatoon 2 Producer Hisashi Nogami
The pioneer of community favourite poses and the producer of Splatoon 2 itself, Hisashi Nogami will be flying in from Japan and attending the 2-day celebration to meet the community and take part in festivities at the show. While at the event, Mr. Nogami will take some time to meet fans and conduct a Splatoon 2 poster signing session at a dedicated timing during the show, hand out the awards to the top teams, and even take part in judging a number of activities that will be running over the weekend. Octo League Last Chance Qualifiers
Has your team been in training with an eye on joining the ranks of the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Top 8? There are two opportunities to still take a shot. Nintendo UK will be hosting a Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 qualifier tournament at MCM London Comic Con taking place within the @NintendoUKVS Tournament Zone on Saturday 27th October, and there will also be one last chance qualifier tournament at the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Grand Final itself! From 10:00 on Saturday 24th November, one final 16-team qualifier tournament will take place. The winning team of both these qualifier tournaments will take the final slots in the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Top 8!
Nintendo UK is accepting pre-registration for both of these tournaments from full teams of 4 or 5 people. To secure your team’s place in either of these qualifier tournaments please send an email to NintendoCommunity@Nintendo.co.uk with the subject line “Splatoon 2 Final Last Chance Tournament”, for MCM Comic Con Birmingham* and “Splatoon 2 Tournament MCM London”, for MCM Comic Con London**. The Splatoon UK Championship 2018 Cosplay Contest
As part of the Splatoon celebrations Nintendo UK is on the search for the sharpest dressed Splatoon fans in the UK! Whether you adorn yourself in the kimono of Marie, the shades of DJ Octavio, the ink-tank of Agent 8 or even the self-styled gear of your own Cephalopod, Splatoon fans of all ages are invited to strut their creations on the Nintendo stage and share their love for Inkopolis!
The winners of this contest will be selected by Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami and other special guests at the event. Prizes for this tournament will be announced at a later date, so those interested should keep their eyes on Splatoon on Facebook as well as Twitter.com/NintendoUK to learn more soon.

The Splatoon UK Championship Splatoon 2 Fan Art Contest
Are you a Splatoon fan with an artistic flair? If so, don’t flounder around – get doodling! Nintendo UK is also taking submissions for the Splatoon UK Championship 2018 Fan Art Contest right now. The ultimate winners of this contest will be chosen by judges including someone very accustomed to looking at Inkopolis inhabitants: Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami!
From characters to locations to weapons, Nintendo UK is simply looking for the freshest artwork to come from the UK. To enter, simply email your fan-art to NintendoCommunity@Nintendo.co.uk by 23:59 on November 11th 2018.
Ten entries will be chosen initially by a judging panel, with the artist behind each receiving a pair of tickets for the event. On Sunday 25th November these top pieces of fan art will be displayed on both the stage and livestream, and Mr. Nogami will announce the final selection of the three ultimate winners as picked by the judging panel and Mr. Nogami.
Not only will these three artists win some lovely Splatoon 2 goodies, they will also receive a print of their art signed by Mr. Nogami himself! But even if you don’t win, your art may still be shared online and at the event as part of the Splatoon 2 celebrations, so get ink-volved!

Alongside all of the Splatoon 2 excitement at MCM Comic Con, Birmingham you’ll also be able to get hands on with New Super Mario.Bros. U Deluxe launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch on 11th January 2019 as well as play Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu, Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Party and a selection of other titles for Nintendo Switch including Mario Tennis Aces, Fortnite, and EA SPORTS™ FIFA 19 to name a few.
There will also be plenty of Nintendo Switch docks available for people to use, so make sure to bring your own Nintendo Switch system so you can challenge other members of the UK Nintendo community to a round in your favorite game.
