FACEIT, the leading competitive gaming platform and creators of the Esports Championship Series (ECS), will host the first UK-based Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Major at London’s SSE Arena, Wembley from 20th-23rd September. One of the first tournament organizers and competitive platforms in the CS:GO community, FACEIT has grown from hosting small open competitions and $1,500 monthly tournaments to becoming the leading competitive CS:GO platform and distributing $3M for its Esports Championship Series (ECS) per year.
FACEIT has been part of the fabric of CS:GO Majors, having hosted the Open Qualifiers round of the competition in the past. With the unique capability to host the Major from start to finish, this year FACEIT will run all online qualifiers for all regions, hosting live event minors tournaments and concluding with the live Finals at the SSE Arena, Wembley, to provide consistency and cohesion to the Major. By utilizing its own competitive platform, FACEIT ensures that every team has an opportunity to participate, cementing its grassroots engagement and bringing a new level of excitement to the Major this September.
In addition to hosting the final with 24 participating teams in London, and welcoming 10,000 spectators to the Finals at the special CS:GO-themed SSE Arena, Wembley, FACEIT will support local activities for fans around the world to gather and enjoy the Major. Viewers will also be able to tune in to FACEIT’s broadcast to watch all of the action unfold live with new dedicated features to improve the fan’s experience. The previous Major broke a record for the most concurrent viewers of an English-language esports tournament stream with 1.13 million fans tuning into the final match.
