The 7th RetroRio, an annual meeting of retrocomputing fans in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will take place from May 31 to June 2. Bringing together collectors and enthusiasts of classic microcomputers, as well as exhibitors of products related to these platforms since 2012, RetroRio is organized by the Brazilian podcast Retrocomputaria.
The organization of the event highlights some of the launches planned for the 2018 edition: Tecnobytes Classic Computers, a Brazilian classic hardware developer, will commercialize the V9990 Powergraph Light graphic interface and the OPL4 Shockwave 2 sound expansion, both releases to the MSX platform.
Also at the meeting, Espectro, a Portuguese-Brazilian magazine about ZX Spectrum, with its third and most recent edition, and Clube MSX, a Brazilian quarterly print magazine about MSX, with its debut edition. During the event, an exhibition of classic microcomputers and the release of the game Retronoid, an Arkanoid clone developed this year for the MSX by Brazilian Gustavo Rybarczyk. The game pays homage to RetroRio. Admission to the event is free.
