Hearthstone World Champion’s Stomping Grounds at HCT Taipei

The Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) is on the move once again! This time, it lands in Taipei—hometown of 2017’s HCT World Champion, Chen “tom60229” Wei Lin.

This online-to-offline tour stop will have four online qualifiers, from which 16 finalists will emerge. They will move on to compete at HCT Taipei, held in the Blizzard Arena Taipei on April 27 and 29.

Tournament Information

HCT Taipei will have a 2,048-player bracket, split into four 512-player qualifiers. Eligibility for each qualifier is determined by your Battle.net Country of Residence.

Flights and accommodations for the 16 players who advance to the HCT Taipei playoffs will be provided by Blizzard Entertainment.

Important Notes

Online qualifiers’ deck submission:

Players will need to submit their deck lists upon registration. Once the player finishes registration, deck lists will be locked and can no longer be updated. Players who fail to complete their registration or deck submission will be automatically counted as disqualified.

Offline finals deck submission:

The final 16 players who advance to the offline playoffs at Blizzard Arena Taipei will need to resubmit deck lists via email by April 24.

Who can participate in HCT Taipei?

HCT Tour Stop: Taipei will open its doors to all players through the following qualifiers:

  • Global: Open to all regions
  • Asia Pacific: Open to citizens and residents of Asia-Pacific
  • Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau: Open to citizens and residents of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau

Which game region will HCT Tour Stop: Taipei be conducted on?

The first Asia-Pacific Qualifier and the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau qualifier will be played on the Asia server. The Global open qualifier and the second Asia-Pacific Qualifier will be played on the Americas server.

What is the format for all matches in HCT Taipei Stop?

All matches will be best-of-five in Conquest format. All players must have four decks, and will ban one of their opponent’s decks each match. Players’ deck lists for the four online qualifiers will be published when the qualifier starts. Offline playoffs at Blizzard Arena Taipei will be played with published deck lists.

Can I play with an account that is not mine?

All participating players must be the legal owners of their Hearthstone accounts. Players found to not be in ownership of the account they are using to play will be disqualified immediately.
