The very best StarCraft competitors will make their way to Shanghai, China to mark the 34th Intel® Extreme Masters SC2 tournament. Sixteen world class players will compete for their share of US$25,000 and WCS points.
Qualifiers began on the 22nd of June where two slots were available through a two day Chinese Qualifier. iAsonu and TIME claimed their positions and were victorious, representing the Chinese scene in the competition. TIME will certainly be a player to look out for as his recent results have been started to raise the eyebrows of both players and fans.
The Global Qualifiers were ran over 3 days starting on the 27th of June where the most skilled players competed through several difficult phases and opponents. Dark and Solar stood out in the crowd of talent as they breezed through the qualifier taking the first two spots for main event without dropping a single map!
If you missed the qualifiers, another top highlight was the tiebreaker between three time IEM champion, herO, and king of the WCS Circuit, Neeb. The two Protoss players battled it out on four maps with herO edging out a 3-1 victory securing yet another position in an IEM tournament. herO is already a three time IEM champion and will now compete to break yet another record as he searches for his 4th title.
The competition in Shanghai will be not be one to miss out on, we will be releasing the tournament schedule and starting times in the coming days. So mark those dates, 27-30 July 2017!!
