Proud of the talent of the teams all around the world, we decided to expand the Pro League to the Asia Pacific region. It’s our pleasure to crown not only the best team in Europe and the Americas, but a truly global champion.
The APAC Pro League will be handled differently than the other three regions. It will be divided into four different sub-regions:
- Japan
- South Korea
- South East Asia
- Australia-New Zealand
Each sub-region will host their own tournaments running from September 5th to September 27th. The best two teams of each sub-region will then meet at an offline event in Sydney, Australia, on October 21-22nd. From amongst those eight teams, the two very best squads will then represent the APAC region at the Rainbow Six Pro League Year 2 Season 3 Finals in Brazil.
The next Rainbow Six Pro League event to mark down in your calendars will be the Season 2 Finals which will be held in Cologne, Germany, at Gamescom on ESL Arena’s central stage on August 25-26th. Afterwards, the Season 3 Finals will be headed to Brazil, São Paulo on November 17-18th.
We are also pleased to announce the second edition of the Six Invitational, where the top-placing teams of all four major regions (Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America) will meet to determine the world’s best team. Montreal, Canada, will once again play host for the Six Invitational on February 16-18th, 2018. This time the tournament will offer a prize pool of $500,000, making it the biggest Rainbow Six competition to date and raising the total prize pool this year to a staggering $1,250,000.
