This tournament offers a twist on the classic single-player Hearthstone experience—seasoned competitors and new challengers alike will form three-player teams that compete as one group using any of their teammates’ Hearthstone account! Are you up for the challenge?
Want to be the best in your class? Registration is open to college students in United States and Canada. Any number of teams may represent a school in the Open Division, but teammates must all attend the same college or university and must maintain a 2.50 GPA to remain eligible for scholarship prizing.
The HCC Open Division welcomes collegiate newcomers and old pros alike. Best of all – registration for the Hearthstone Collegiate Championship is absolutely free! For colleges with varsity esports programs, the HCC Varsity Division will host serious competition among schools looking to take competition to the next level. While signups for the Varsity Division are already complete, there is still time for your Open Division team to get in on the action.

Spring Open Division Schedule & Format
All matches will be best-of-five in Conquest format.
Febraury 25 – April 2 – Regular Season
Teams will play seven swiss-format matches in one of four regional groups—North, South, East, or West—based on the location of their college or university. Teams must go 5-2 or better to advance to Regional Swiss rounds.
April 13 – Regional Swiss
Teams that advanced will play swiss rounds against other top teams from their region. After the dust settles, the top eight teams from each region—32 teams in total—will advance to Regional Playoffs.
April 14 – Regional Playoffs
The top eight teams from each regional groups will be split up into a double elimination bracket. The final three teams from each region—12 in all—will advance to the Championship Bracket.
April 20 – 21 – Championship Bracket
At the end of a regional gauntlet, the finalists clash! One top 12 teams from the Open Division will meet four of their counterparts from the Collegiate Hearthstone Varsity Division. The top two teams from each group will earn their place in the final four.
May 11 – Finals
It all comes down to this! On May 11, the final four surviving titans of collegiate Hearthstone will be seeded into one final single elimination bracket to crown the spring Hearthstone Collegiate Champions!
Top teams will walk away with great memories, bragging rights, and a whole lot of prizes.

Players that finish from 17th through 36th will receive ASUS tablets ($200 ARV). Teams that qualify for Regional Swiss will even receive exclusive Hearthstone collegiate t-shirts for their whole team!
In the Fall 2018 Hearthstone Collegiate Championship, dark horse James Madison University came out on top after fending off challenges by some of the finest collegiate teams in North America. In a critical semifinal matchup against tournament favorites University of Utah, JMU quickly dropped two games. Undaunted by the deficit, the upstart team brought the series back. The favorites to win fell, and JMU inched ever closer to the crown. In the final match of the tournament, JMU trounced Queen’s University in a convincing 3-1 series.
