Holiday gatherings are going virtual this year, with 70% of Americans not traveling this holiday season. Parents and kids alike are looking for safe ways to celebrate and connect with loved ones this holiday season and after a successful Halloween Block Party event earlier this year, iD Tech is again launching a magical experience for the holiday season on the Roblox platform.
Kids ages 7-19 can sign up to spread holiday cheer, which includes everyone’s favorites like gingerbread houses, hot cocoa, and even the largest virtual snowball fight ever to break the record of 8,500 participants, kicking off on December 26, 2020 from 1-2pm PT. With night-time drives through a festively lit-up neighborhood and gifts to collect, this winter wonderland has everything needed for a merry time. There will be nightly fireworks, with a grand finale show at midnight across time zones globally on December 31 to ring in 2021.
At sign-up, players will have an opportunity to embrace the spirit of the season by giving back and spreading joy to those adversely impacted. iD Tech is offering free access to the experience to anyone who signs up. In addition, iD is offering two other options: VIP tickets for $15 and Premium tickets for $10. A VIP ticket will provide players with exclusive extras in-game and a complimentary iD Tech Online Private Lesson, which is taught 1-on-1 by an experienced iD Certified Instructor (a $75 value). For a Premium ticket, players will receive $10 off an Online Private Lesson lesson. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The Lindsey Vonn Foundation, known for its impactful work in empowering our future generation through mentorship, scholarship, and enrichment programs.
“We are so grateful for our continued partnership with iD Tech, as our work together has made an incredible impact on underrepresented youth around the country,” said Lindsey Vonn, the most decorated Alpine ski racer of all time, host of Amazon Prime’s The Pack and founder of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation. “This donation couldn’t have come at a better time, as the holiday season is a crucial time of year to give back. Everyone deserves to have those precious moments we remember forever during the holiday season, and that couldn’t ring more true this year with so many families in need.”
Kids deserve to revel in the merry-making magic of the holidays, and parents deserve an option that is safe and inspires STEM learning opportunities. There are endless possibilities with the iD Tech Block Party – Holiday Edition — in Roblox, from organizing a virtual family-meetup to “drive” through the bedazzled neighborhood to challenging friends in the world’s largest virtual snowball fight.
“We wanted to create a truly authentic and exciting in-game experience that can be enjoyed anywhere in the world as we continue to social distance,” said Pete Ingram-Cauchi, iD Tech’s CEO. “We knew we had to go over the top when creating a virtual holiday world because most families will be staying home this year. With so many kids already being in remote learning for several months, we felt they more than deserved a safe space to experience all of their favorite holiday activities”
Philanthropy is a fundamental part of iD Tech’s core values. Since its inception, the company has granted more than $6 million in life-changing educational experiences to underrepresented communities. iD Tech donated more than $250,000 in computers and hardware to nonprofits and underserved students to address the digital divide, exacerbated in 2020. Through the myriad of social impact partnerships, including the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, more than 1,300 students attended courses on full scholarship this past year, skilling up on coding, 3D modeling, artificial intelligence and game design.
The game kicks off in Roblox on December 16, 2020, and will be live all season long through January 3, 2021. To RSVP to the holiday event of the season, head over to https://learn.idtech.com/holiday/.
