The Esports Championship Series (ECS) has crowned SK Gaming as the champions of Season 3 of the popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) competition. After three days of exciting matches between the world’s best CS:GO teams, SK Gaming proved too much for the competition and took home the grand prize of $250,000 USD and the title of ECS Season 3 champions.
Held at London’s Wembley Arena for the second time the finals saw SK Gaming go head-to-head against FaZe Clan in an extremely close game with SK Gaming narrowly taking the win in overtime during the third game. Season three was a sell out event with fans from across the UK attending for the weekend to meet the teams and watch them battle it out live on stage.
Ahead of the Finals on Sunday evening caster duo James Bardolph and Dan “DDK” Kapadia revealed details for Season 5. On June 9th and 10th 2018 SSE Wembley Arena will once again be the home for ECS.
“Firstly, we want to thank our fans watching from home and everyone who attended season 3. It’s through their support that we’re able to announce season 5 a whole year in advance,” said Michele Attisani, Chief Business Officer and Co-Founder of FACEIT. “FACEIT is a UK-based company so London is special to us and it’s always a privilege to have the best teams in the world competing on our home turf. With season 3 being such a success it just seems right to bring season 5 back to Wembley next year for our community and we hope to make it a bigger and better experience for everyone.”
