“I let them go on vacation for too long!” said Lee “Sake” Lee Jung Hyuk of his KSV Black teammates before the Eastern Clash began. A bumpy first half of Phase 1 meant arriving in Taipei for the Eastern Clash as the third seed from Korea, an uncharacteristic result for a team that just won a BlizzCon.
Getting the band back together in Taiwan saw a renewed synergy from the world champions. They stormed through the upper bracket, defeating TheOne, Tempest, and Ballistix along the way making them the first team to secure their place in the grand finals.
Ballistix rallied, defeating Tempest in the lower bracket finals to meet KSV Black one last time.
The grand final was an incredible display. The chaos ensued late into the night. The calls and cries of Ballistix could be heard clear across the venue (even in the gift shop). All of that noise must have made a difference, because it was Ballistix that walked away victorious when it was all said and done.
Congratulations to Ballistix
Check out the must watch grand finals series.
