In the second part of our four-part series, we’re taking a deeper look at group B. We are looking at all groups at IEM Shanghai, the stats, predictions and more as we prepare ourselves for one of the most stacked tournaments of 2017.

Alright, let’s jump into group B which features both Season 1 and 2 GSL champions of 2017.

Group B will be played together with group A on Thursday 27th of July, the starting day of the tournament. This group isn’t as straightforward as it may seem compared to some of the others. I think a lot of people will agree that both GuMiho and Stats should be advancing but both Rogue and iAsonu are capable of ruining the predictions of those who think that way.
- Match 1: Stats vs iAsonu
- Match 2: GuMiho vs Rogue
One of the reasons why predictions could be ruined is because of the way iAsonu likes to play and what he is capable of doing. One of the biggest questions you need to ask when looking at the starting match of Group B is what has iAsonu prepared for Stats? Is he going to play aggressive or not? And what is Stats thinking iAsonu has prepared? With iAsonu being China’s best player, he will be hoping to perform well enough to see him through the groups. Has he really prepared as well as he needs to in order to play against these highly decorated players?
The following game of the group is the rematch from the GSL Ro32 earlier this month where Rogue took out Gumiho 2-1. Rogue is absolutely capable of defeating GuMiho and perhaps capable of advancing in 1st place on a very good day. This leads to the why this group is a little more unpredictable than the others. However, it should be a safe bet to predict both GSL champions to advance from this group. Here is what we think will happen followed by a closer breakdown of stats from Aligulac.
