Indie MEGASHOW Tokyo – “Pop-up” event in the Japanese megalopolis

Indie MEGABOOTH curators have announced Indie MEGASHOW Tokyo, a pop-up version of its standalone roaming event series MEGASHOW. In partnership with DDM, Dangen Entertainment, Wanxin Media, Degica Games, Coconut Island, GameTomo, Bravewave, Skeleton Crew and Dekki Games, MEGASHOW Tokyo will be held at SuperDeluxe in Roppongi on Wednesday, September 20th leading into Tokyo Game Show. For more information on the event and to purchase tickets (2000 yen) for Indie MEGASHOW Tokyo, visit http://peatix.com/event/292030.

More than a dozen indie games have been confirmed to showcase at MEGASHOW Tokyo, with a special mention that Arika, a Tokyo-based studio, will be debuting its upcoming Mysterious Fighting Game (working title) for the first time in Japan. Fighting game fans will know Arika’s work from their past fighting game collaborations and some of those fan favorite characters from the classic games will be making their first appearance in 20 years.

In addition to the curated lineup of new and unreleased titles, MEGASHOW Tokyo party goers will be able to play the games while Mega Ran, nerdcore hip-hop extraordinaire, performs a set. Legendary Tokyo-based DJ and producer, DJ Uppercut, will be providing the music backdrop throughout the event.

In June of this year, Indie MEGABOOTH revealed the new roaming event series – MEGASHOW: Games. Music. Art. – which aims to feature local independent content across a variety of mediums to bring people together to discover and celebrate fresh talent in the indie scene. The first MEGASHOW took place in Atlanta, Georgia on July 15 and some highlights can be found here: http://indiemegabooth.com/megashow-atlanta-post-show-roundup/

The entire event will be streamed on Twitch and hosted by Chyado Sensei and a bevy of special guests. For more information about Indie MEGASHOW Tokyo follow @IndieMEGABOOTH on Twitter or visit http://peatix.com/event/292030.
