ECS Season 6 Finals Schedule

The teams have been decided for the ECS Season 6 Finals.

Over the last 8 weeks, 20 teams in two divisions battled it out for a place at the ECS Season 6 Finals. The top two teams had the privilege of drafting their own groups for the finals, which include two NA teams and two EU teams each:

Group A

  1. Astralis
  2. mousesports
  3. MIBR
  4. Cloud9

Group B

  1. NRG Esports
  2. Team Liquid
  3. North
  4. Ninjas in Pyjamas

This season, we’ve taken on board feedback from players, fans, and community about our match scheduling to find a solution that we feel provides the best experience to those playing and watching.

Day 1’s first round matches are determined by groups, which were drafted by the highest-placed teams across each ECS division. There is a GSL-style system in place meaning no team will advance or be eliminated without playing at least one BO3 series. The Finals have also been extended to a four-day broadcast, with the final two days being played in front of fans at the Esports Stadium, Arlington.

We’ve also added two special matches in advance of the Grand Final on Sunday, first giving two collegiate CS:GO teams the chance to take their Texas rivalry onto the main stage, and then a Movember-themed showmatch in which players, talent and special guests will battle it out in aid of the Movember Foundation. The Grand Final is a best of three series. After consulting with the ECS teams and players, it was decided that a best of three Grand Final is preferred over a best of five or other length series.

Day 3 (Saturday 24 Nov)

15:00-18:00 CST / 22:00-01:00 CET – Playoffs Semi-Final 2, BO3 (Group B Upper Bracket winner v Group A Lower Bracket winner)

Day 4 (Sunday 25 Nov)
11:30-12:30 CST / 18:30-19:30 CET – Texas Collegiate Showdown (BO1)
12:30-13:30 CST / 19:30-20:30 CET – Movember ECS Showmatch (BO1)
15:00-18:00 CST / 22:00-01:00 CET – ECS Season 6 Grand Final (BO3)

The winner of the first round of matches goes into their upper bracket final. The winning team from the upper bracket final progresses to the playoff semi finals on Day 3. The losing team from the upper bracket final progresses to Round 2 of the Lower Bracket on Day 2.

The loser of the first round of matches goes into Round 1 of the Lower Bracket on Day 2. If they lose in their Round 1 BO3, they are out of the tournament. If they win in Round 1, they progress to Round 2, and play against the losing Upper Bracket finalist from their group.

The semi final matchups are made up of the first qualifier from each group’s Upper Bracket on Day 1, and the qualifier from the other game’s Day 2 lower bracket.

The ECS Season 6 Finals take place on the 22-25 November 2018, and all of the action will be streamed live on youtube.com/faceit.
