Brasil Game Show 2018 – Howard Scott Warshaw, maker of Atari’s epic E.T. tie-in game

Brasil Game Show (BGS) announces its second international guest to be present at the 11th edition of the event, which will take place on October 10-14th, 2018, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo. He is Howard Scott Warshaw, one of the first electronic games developers and creator of several famous games for Atari, such as Yars’ Revenge, considered one of the best games of the legendary console; Raiders of the Lost Ark, a game based on the movie “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”; and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, marked as one of the greatest polemics in the history of video games. The international guest will be present at BGS on October 11-14th. Aside from taking part in Meet & Greet sessions and presentations at the BGS Talks stage, he will get a spot on the Wall of Fame, next to Hideo Kojima, Nolan Bushnell, Ed Boon, and Phil Spencer.

During his presentations at the largest gaming event in Latin America, Warshaw will share with the public some of the best moments of his career and the behind the scenes of the events that transformed one of the most disputed licenses of the history of video games, from the movie “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”, into thousands of games buried in the middle of the desert of New Mexico, USA. Warshaw will talk about how he carried the burden of being the only developer of that game for three decades, a story that, according to him, mixes “arrogance, triumph, blind ambition and, at the end, resilience”.

Besides being a developer, Howard Scott Warshaw is an artist, technologist and therapist, but he defines himself as a communicator. Currently, Howard works as a psychotherapist at Silicon Valley (California, USA), where he specialized in matters of professionals that work in companies related to high technology and advanced intelligence. His professional accomplishments also include an art exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, and awards for his work as a cinematographic producer. About his participation in BGS 2018, Howard left a message for his Brazilian fans.
