The PC Gamer Weekender played on OMEN by HP is back by popular demand for a third year at London’s Olympia in February 2018. With exclusive access to new PC games before they are released, developer talks on the most exciting games of the year and a series of tournaments for players to battle against each other, it’s sure to attract thousands of dedicated gamers to London.
Games already confirmed to appear at next year’s Weekender include: open-world, post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable RPG Biomutant, RTS/RPG hybrid SpellForce 3, turn-based strategy games Frozen Synapse 2 and Phoenix Point, action/strategy game MetaMorph: Dungeon Creatures, puzzle-platformer Shift Quantum and team-based online game Guns of Icarus Alliance. Expect more announcements over the coming months.
Brought to you by the brains behind PC Gamer, based on overwhelming feedback from the online gaming community, this year the PC Gamer Weekender will also feature three brand new areas, specifically created to meet the needs and wants of UK gamers.
New attractions include:
• OMEN by HP eSports Bootcamp – Become an eSports champion at this dedicated OMEN by HP Bootcamp, where the pros will be teaching you all the skills and tricks you need to go the distance in Overwatch.
• Get Into Games – Top-notch advice on a career in games from publishers and recruiters, who’ll explain everything from the importance of game jams, to how to stand out. Perfect for anyone studying at higher or further education level, or those looking for a career change.
• The Arcade – Take a trip back in time in the arcade area, where gamers can play classics including Sonic 2, Street Fighter II, Pac-Man, Streets of Rage and 1943.
There’s also a dedicated VR zone, allowing gamers to get hands-and-heads-on with a selection of different VR titles. Or for the more technical, a series of in depth PC workshops, led by hardware experts, where you can learn how to turn your PC into the machine you’ve always wanted.
“We’re very excited about this year’s PC Gamer Weekender” says Samuel Roberts, PC Gamer UK Editor-In-Chief. “As well as the exclusive games previews, developer talks and nail-biting tournament battles you’d expect, we’ve also got brand new expert tutorials, an OMEN by HP eSports Bootcamp from the best in the business and an arcade with classic games. We’ve listened to the feedback from gamers and the show is bigger and better than ever. In this year’s Weekender, we’ve once again made the event that we as PC gamers would love to attend ourselves.”
