Everyone, get in here—because we’ll soon be going to the polls to decide the teams for the 2018 Hearthstone Global Games (HGG)! Until then, though, here’s a rundown of the full program.
Voting Criteria
Team eligibility this year will be determined by Season 1 Hearthstone Competitive Points (CP). A country or region’s top point earner will automatically be the team anchor unless they decline.
HCT in the Paese Del Sol—Italy

Pack your bags and sunglasses—the Hearthstone Championship Tour’s next stop is in the Paese Del Sole! Literally translated as “land of the sun”, HCT Italy Powered By Zotac is the first Hearthstone tour stop in the country’s history. The event will take place July 6 to 8, 2018 at the PALA2A in Varese, home of the city’s basketball team.

Hearthstone’s latest expansion, Witchwood’s spooky new Echo keyword
Hearthstone Lead Initial Designer Peter Whalen went into detail on the spooky new Echo keyword coming in Hearthstone’s latest expansion, The Witchwood. Cards with the Echo keyword can be played again and again on the same turn, as long as you have the mana.
One of the main goals of Echo is for the keyword to be useful both early and late game so players have the freedom to decide the best time to play their cards: should they play their Echo card as soon as they have the mana or hold off until they can play the card multiple times in one turn for an even bigger effect?… Read the rest

Hearthstone, Two new decks coming to the upcoming Witchwood expansion
Hearthstone Lead Designer Dean Ayala went into detail on two new kinds of decks coming to Hearthstone in the latest expansion, The Witchwood: Even- and Odd-cost decks.
Two new neutral Legendary cards enable players to fully embrace the Even- and Odd-cost mechanic: Baku the Mooneater and Genn Greymane.

Baku the Mooneater asks players to build a deck with only odd-cost cards and rewards them by upgrading their starting hero power to make it more powerful.
